Brisbane Photographer

Allow me to introduce myself because you probably ended up here by searching for a Brisbane photographer. It’s ok, what matters is that you made it here and you’re in safe hands!

I’m Matt Walter, a Brisbane-based photographer that prides themselves on delivering the best results for my client. Whether you need real estate photography, product photography, portrait photography, event photography or something a little bit different, I’m here to hear your ideas.

What makes me different from other Brisbane photographers?

As a Brisbane photographer with almost 10 years experience behind a camera, I know my strengths and weaknesses. Photography is an interesting art form because it relies heavily on the artistic interpretation of a client’s brief. That means that it’s more important than anything to hire the right professional photographer.

If I’m not able to deliver on your brief, I will be able to give you a recommendation for another photographer that is perfect for your requirements. It’s more important to me that you get the best photos than it is for me to simply ‘book a job’. Fortunately, I’m a photographer based in Brisbane who has worked with clients who need a little bit of everything. Chances are I will be able to take on your work, but you can also rest assured knowing I will give you a recommendation if there is a photographer better suited to your requirements. Honesty is my policy.

What are my photography rates?

My rate depends on the style of photography and what is required. There is no right answer when it comes to quoting costs without hearing about the intricacies of your brief. Some clients require a studio to take photos in (often for commercial photography and portraits), whereas other clients just require the fresh air of outdoors, avoiding the costs of studio space.

What I love about Brisbane photography

Whether it’s commercial photography, wedding photography or a family portrait, photography in Brisbane is really special.

Brisbane has a range of varying locations that suit any type of photography work. Powerhouse Brisbane has a beautiful, industrial aesthetic that suits almost any genre. Right beside it is New Farm Park, a sprawling parkland that is perfect for bringing in some colour to the photos.

Meanwhile, just 15 minutes away, a beautiful lookout that is a perfect backdrop for any photo sits at the top of Mt Coot-tha. And if 15 minutes is too far away for the client (it’s worth the drive in my opinion), there is another fantastic lookout just beside the city. Kangaroo Point cliffs has an eye-level view with huge buildings in the background, perfectly suited for portraits that want to showcase Brisbane, and the iconic Story Bridge.

Brisbane wedding photography

A friend and I are a team of wedding photographers in Brisbane. We call our wedding photography team, Sun Stone Wedding Photography. We take limited bookings throughout the year, and are best suited for bride and grooms on a tight wedding budget, or want to make a last-minute booking for a wedding photographer.

We also travel interstate for wedding photography work. Let us know where your wedding will take place and we will get back to you with our availability. You can send an enquiry through the form further down this page, or head over to the dedicated Sun Stone Wedding Photography website.

Brisbane music photography

Almost every enquiry I get is for music photography, whether it’s live music photography or portraiture. Music photography capturing the emotion and energy spent on delivering a fantastic show for the audience is what I take pride in.

The bulk of my work is documenting some of Australia’s biggest bands, including Violent Soho, Camp Cope, Skegss, Dune Rats and more.

I don’t shoot only big bands. I’ve shot for many small, local bands that have big dreams. I love working with bands that are passionate about their journey in the music industry. My rates are also very reasonable, and I work hard to make them affordable for bands of any level.

Find out more about my music photography over at the dedicated page, which includes a small sample of the thousands of photos I’ve taken over the past 10 years in the business.
