My Soundwave article for VICE Magazine

VICE Magazine’s Noisey: Music By Vice asked me to head to Soundwave and ask people a simple question – The Color Morale or Icon For Hire?

I met some great people and heard some interesting stories. For those of you I chatted with, you may be featured in this article:

http://noisey.vice.com/en_au/blog/we-went-to-soundwave-to-find-the-most-popular-kind-of-christian-band

Thanks to everyone who took the time to chat to me for the article!

Gig Photographer interview now online

Gig Photographer recently did an interview with me about my live music photography and how I got started. If you haven’t had a chance to take a read yet, head over to their website:

http://gig-photographer.com/behind-the-camera-matt-warrell/

If you haven’t checked out the work on Gig Photographer, you really should. There’s some amazing photographers featured on the website from up and coming photographers to those that you have probably heard of. Plus the website design is really nice.

Break Even, Hopeless and more at Crowbar Brisbane

Last night at Crowbar Brisbane was so good. So good that today I tweeted this:

Break Even hit Crowbar for the first time and brought along Endless Heights, Hopeless and Postblue. Add in that the guys from Smith Street Band, Violent Soho and Great Cynics were there and you’ve got a fantastic night on your hands.

PUP (the band) Australian Tour

PUP ranks second in my list of favourite bands. Right behind The Flatliners. Probably because I first heard of PUP when they were touring with The Flatliners at some point and any band that gets props from my favourite band is worth a listen. Continue reading
